MEDICAL ACCOUNTS - Medical accounts are our specialty. We have been collecting on outstanding medical balances for hospitals, doctors, dentists, x-ray clinics and many other medical specialists and groups for 35 years. We are located in Evansville, Indiana and also serve clients in Illinois and Kentucky. We are licensed and bonded in Indiana and Illinois (Kentucky does not require a license at this time). Hoosier Accounts continues to make every effort to follow all laws governing the collection of medical debt. Just recently, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) went into effect and Hoosier spent many hours preparing our company to handle the security of "PHI" (Private Health Information) in accordance with the new regulations to protect our company as well as protect your best interests. Medical collections demand finesse, special training and professionalism to maintain our clients' reputation as well ours. Hoosier delivers on all counts.
RETAIL ACCOUNTS - Retail collections, although not as common as medical debt, still exists and are sometimes more difficult to collect. Part of our service is to educate our retail clients, urge the client to get signatures on long term payments on retail items and to concentrate on getting good information up front from their customers. If a bad debt occurs, the more information you have, the more likely we will be able to collect the account.
COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS - Many commercial deals are made on a handshake and a promise. These deals do not always pan out. If you do business with other businesses, they too may develop a financial problem. Again, Hoosier will try to educate our clients on what it takes to get these type of bad debts paid or how to avoid this situation altogether. Education about prevention of debt is the best way to reduce your losses.
PRE-COLLECT LETTER SERVICE - Hoosier Accounts can provide a two to three letter pre-collect letter series. Depending on how you wish to assign the accounts, there may or may not be a "per letter charge". Usually, a lower collection fee will be charged if accounts are paid during the pre-collect phase. If the accounts are still unpaid at the end of the pre-collect letter series, the account will roll into regular collections at a higher collection fee. There are many options for this service and we will be happy to discuss this type of arrangement.
MONITORING PAYMENT ACCOUNTS - If your account is delinquent, but you have agreed to accept long term payments on the balance, Hoosier can monitor those accounts and if payment arrangements are not met in a timely manner, the account rolls into the regular collection phase automatically. The account is not neglected and by keeping a close watch on the payment schedule, we are able to respond quickly on problems that may arise. Allowing Hoosier to monitor these accounts will free your staff to work on other jobs in your office. Our computer software is very efficient when handling these types of accounts.
REVIEW AND CONSULTATION - CURRENT COLLECTION PROCEDURES - Many times a client will ask Hoosier to review their current methods and procedures of handling their delinquent accounts. Hoosier Accounts will help you decide if a change may be needed in this area. Hoosier will review your procedures and may make recommendations for changes, but you are responsible to review these changes with your attorney for approval before implementation.
IN-HOUSE LEGAL DEPARTMENT -Hoosier Accounts Service has an extensive legal department overseen by our Attorney who has been in the debt collection field for over 20 years. Our legal department reviews and prepares all litigated accounts and the suits are constantly monitored. Our attorney attends seminars, researches court cases and follows up on all current and pending collection law changes which may affect the collection of delinquent accounts to assure our compliance. Hoosier Accounts advances court costs and fees unless, after review, we feel suit is not feasible. We believe Hoosier maintains a good recovery on litigated accounts because of our ability to maintain a close watch on delinquent accounts through the legal process.
